ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE

EXECUTIVE BOARD

NPA has a Full Time Board/Authority comprising five Executive Members the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and three (3) other Members. This Board is appointed by H.E The President, with approval by Parliament.

The primary of the Board is to provide policy guidance, monitor and supervise the Executive Director in the performance of his/her duties of day-to-day operations of the Authority.

SECRETARIAT

The approved structure of National Planning Authority (NPA) provides for a secretariat, headed by an Executive Director, and two Directorates namely;

  • Directorate of Development Planning

DIRECTORATE OF DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

concentrates on development planning and it is supported by the following
departments

  • Production and Trade
  • Information, Communication and Technology
  • Economic and Strategic Planning
  • Human Resource Planning and Development
  • Social Development
  • Infrustructure

 

  • Directorate of Policy, Research and Innovation

THE DIRECTORATE OF POLICY, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

Responsible of strengthening NPA’s think tanking role and is supported by the following departments

  • Policy, Research and Innovation
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Governace and Public Sector Management
  • Macro-economics

 

The two directorates and the attendant departments all work to contribute to the realisation of NPA’s key outputs as set out in the Startegic Plan, namely;

  • Medium and long-term development plans and frameworks produced
  • Functional think tanking and National Planning Forum
  • Quality development plans for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), and Local Governments (LG) produced
  • Development planning guidelines for MDAs and LGs harmonised
  • Planning capacity for sectors and LGs enhanced
  • Timely National Development Reports (NDR) produced
